Cisco VPN for Mac OS 10.6–10.9

Below are instructions for setting up VPN connectivity if you are using:

  • Mac OS 10.6 (“Snow Leopard”)
  • Mac OS 10.7 (“Lion”)
  • Mac OS 10.8 (“Mountain Lion”)
  • Mac OS 10.9 (“Mavericks”)

(If you are using Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard” or below, use these instructions instead. How do you know? On your Mac, click the Apple menu in the upper-left, and select “About This Mac.”)

Click here to manually download the .dmg of the Cisco AnyConnect installer. You will be prompted for your Wesleyan credentials.

Double-click on the .dmg file after download, and then double-click on the vpn.pkg installer file in the resulting window, and follow the installation prompts.

The connection window will appear:

AnyConn_login

We highly recommend you enable local LAN access in order to maintain any local network connections:

AnyConn_login_LocalLAN

AnyConn_prefs

Back at the connection window, click connect. Enter your Wesleyan username and password. At the next prompt, click Accept.

Your browser will open to a page that verifies you are connected:

VPN_connected

When you’d like to disconnect your VPN connection, you can either click on the Disconnect button in the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client window, or simply quit the application.
