Configuring your computer for Wesleyan Wireless Access
To access Wesleyan’s Wireless Network you must have a either an Airport or Airport Extreme card in your Macintosh. For further information on Apple’s wireless cards, see www.apple.com/store, contact the computer store at 685-3907.
- Click on the blue apple at the top left of your screen, and go to "System Preferences." Once there, click on the "Network" icon. This will open the Network configuration window.
- In the Network configuration window, in the "Show" picklist, choose "Airport."
- Click the "TCP/IP" tab. Choose "Using DHCP" from the "Configure" picklist as in the picture below.
- Click the "Airport" tab. Check the "Join a specific network" box and enter "AirWesLS" in the box below.
- Click the "Apply Now" Button.
- Open a web browser without being plugged into the normal Ethernet. Log into the wireless network with your email username and password.
- The Airport signal symbol should now fill in with black lines. This means you have a signal, and are connected.
Where can I use Wesleyan's Wireles Access?
Wireless access is available in all the computer labs, in Olin Library, in the Science Library, in most areas in all of the dorms (Butterfield, Nicholson, Hewitt, Clark) and in some academic and residential buildings (PAC, the Bayitt, etc). Check the full list, or call the Helpdesk.
